After being inspired by the Melon Key's (Ram Chandra) recent update of his, I've decided to write something here as well, especially since dear jordaan commented on this place being emotional worhx.

Term 3 is over. September Holidays will be over in the matter of a few days. Next Wednesday I'll be flying off to Chang Chun, China, host country of Olympics '08 for RLP. And after spending 10 days there, assuming I stay safe and manage to come back in a piece, it'll be 2 weeks from EOYs.

Stayed in RI boarding the whole of week 10 and the night before yesterday's night. It was quite good, albeit the lack of proper internet connection, but after one week there it made me realise the amount of work i could do in 2 hours every day. It's a system all boarders have to go through, every weekday from 730 - 945 pm, prep time in the library, where no laptops are allowed, you either mug or get scolded by the lady who inspects. Will be staying there again in weeks 3&4 so I guess there's no better place to be during that time.

Time passes by so quickly it's amazing. If I look back and ponder over what I was one year ago, the things I had, everything has changed. So yes as the saying goes, "the only thing that's constant is change", but sometimes, change sucks.

In the space of three days, some ultra mega omega rich Arab Oil Merchant and members of the Royal Family have made Manchester CITY (note: City, not United) the richest club in the world. The Sulaiman guy apparently has 1 TRILLION US Dollars to spend at free will, and they successfully managed to capture Robinho for like 32million pounds. Reports have stated that they're going to bid a whopping 135million pounds for Ronaldo, and if they actually do it, Man Utd should just make the most out of it and sell him for good, cause I for one really doubt his allegiance and dedication to this club, and Alex Ferguson will prolly be all smiles because his resistance to Ronaldo moving to Real Madrid would have earned them double the price, about 70 million more pounds. But all this is just based on assumption, nevertheless who wouldn't dream of a ManUtd having a strike force of Rooney, Berbatov, and Messi :D

After a hectic and crazy 8 months, it's good catching up with friends I never had time to talk to in ages. Not EVERYONE wants to speak to me, but at least some are still willing to. And I'm actually tempted to write a 1000 word paragraph on change and how people change, but I'll skip that.

Oh yes Teachers' Day was just a few days away. Went back to maris stella, and when I think back, the primary school days were really the most carefree days. But you only realise what you lose when it's gone, (if you want to read some philosophical nonsense about that you can scroll down) so perhaps in 10 years time, or even in RJC, we might all turn back and say "secondary school life was the best, we should've cherished it more". But it's quite impossible to cherish something without losing it, really, because it's only after you lose it or move on, before you realise how simple things could have been, how things used to be. How reaching home every day after school by 3pm was something you were going to experience only rarely :D How you used to complain about $1 chicken rice from Chicken Delights was expensive, HOW MUCH MONEY YOU WASTED BUYING ERASERS, RUBBER BANDS, ICE CREAM STICKS, FANCY STATIONERY, JELLY AND SWEETS (and the list goes on and on and on.)
But still, teachers' day last year was still the best, I honestly doubt any teachers'day from now will ever be like the one I had in '07, but TIMES THINGS AND PEOPLE HAVE CHANGED.

So, till the moment my plane for China takes off on wednesday morning, I shall ATTEMPT to cherish Singapore as much as possible, and go to bed every night hugging my pillow like it's the last night i'm gonna have it. HA.

Raffles Basketball Unite(d)

From SZ Final, mostly from our heavily sought after cdiv captain jordaan goh kok ping's facebook account, of which all the photos were taken by his very nice aunt because she complimented me. MORE PHOTOS CAN BE FOUND ON GRYPHONSBASKETBALL.BLOGSPOT.COM thanks to Joel Tan, an old ri baller.

The winning team

Joel so cute worhx

We somehow managed to share their joy :D

KAMIKAZE. Joel still so cute worhx

I'm sorry Joel for potentially fracturing your ribcage HA :D

Schlemiel on left, Superstar on right.

MSP class went to some obscure malay restaurant where we were all apprehensive about initially but the food was so good we ate and ate and ate and I reached home and had diarrhoea. From that day onwards I fell in love with eating malay snails, also known as WAJIK.

It's been 3 long years.

For the first time in 5 months, sec3s trained for the first time yesterday. It was murderous and chander and I nearly died after the second drill but am very very relieved everything ended on a high note, with the 3 batch combined cheer for the cdiv campaign. Am also very proud of the sec2s for managing to put last year's horrible defeat to east spring in the first round of nats behind them and blitzing their way past bukit panjang by 40 points.
I quote PETER PANG WEI HAN: "Memories from our horrific lost last year kept appearing in our minds, and we wanted to ensure that such problems would not return to haunt us again. In order to keep our minds 100% focused on the match, we even asked for a postponement of the class tests on that day. "
NO MORE PONNING CLASS TESTS OR I WILL SKIN YOU ALL ALIVE.

I posted so much here the past couple of days merely for cheap thrill. Confession time, this is the 200th post. It really doesn't mean much, not really much of a significance, but 200 is nice and round so I shall aim for 222 next.

My juniors were awesome on court and have managed to do something I haven't been able to do for the past 3 years here. WIN A FINAL. And win they did, in style, in fashion (DOS HAHA) and they were hot on court. They are surprisingly, highly sought after by numerous species of the opposite gener, I can assure you that. Hopefully they don't get carried away and distracted from their ultimate goal, it really will be a pity if they don't go as far as they should. I should know.
SO, SOUTH ZONE CHAMPIONS C'DIV 08.
None of you will read this but danny did it for us last year, I shall do the same.

#4 Joel - You have matured a lot over the past 7 months, keep hitting those threes and getting us onto our feet whenever you take a shot from beyond the arc :D
#5 Alex - Glad you tasted your first minutes in a final today, keep using these games to gain exposure for your senior year, and at the same time enjoy the experience :D
#6 Yuxuan - Mr Sharpshooter! Your only three today was disallowed but keep shooting, and don't ever fear missing, because you have reliable centres who can dominate the offensive boards :D
#7 PETER - I WILL WRITE YOU YOUR 1000 WORD TESTIMONIAL AFTER YOUR SEASON. I PROMISE YOU THAT.
#8 Jordaan - Captain Goh Kok Ping. Like I told you countless times, this team is relying on you for a lot of things, so do the team proud, and most importantly do yourself proud, have no regrets.
#9 Justin - I WILL ALSO TELL YOU EVERYTHING WHEN WE HAVE OUR 1 HOUR LONG "DISCUSSION" AGAIN ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FOULS. But you have grown so much since last year it's scary watching you knock people down now :D
#10 Brendan Sim - Keep world's best moving, keep drawing fouls and keep getting new ahem female contacts. JUST DO NOT GET DISTRACTED.
#11 Lawrence - You've endured the agony of having to watch your teammates by the side, now your patience will pay off, and you are going to dominate the paint come nationals. We all know that :D
#12 Greg - Hsssssss girls aside, you have improved so much since last year too. Just keep staying focused, forget about the spectacular blocks, more on the effective box outs, and do your height justice!
#13 Ding (Jianhan) - Five words for you. Breathe in, Breathe out, Relax.
#14 MOMO - Adidas deo, nivea deo, impulse deo, nike deo, rebok deo, hush puppies deo, YOU OWN THEM ALL, because you are MOMO.
#15 CHNG (Bryan) - It's okay, don't be too sad you lost your first ever medal in 13 years of existence. This is actually a blessing in disguise for you to be motivated and strive on for more medals. Keep getting strong, and like coach says, you'll be a MONSTER next year. a monster with HORNS right? :D

Okay despite the romantic (what also starts with R? :D) times the cdiv guys are having right now, am very proud of them. Let's hope they go further than we did last year, THAT HAS TO HAPPEN.

Am feeling exactly Closer To Me, word for word, towards the person who sent it to me. Am not shy to say, I just lack the guts. And the circumstances are just too weird, and I really fear the outcome, especially considering the number of byes there have already been. It's just TERRIBLE.

Day One of Gryphons Cup was yesterday. 8am - 8pm, we managed to play against coach's team (classics) and as tiring as it was, am pretty sure the entire batch had a lot of fun. Also managed to present coach his jersey, on behalf of our batch. Coach posted the picture of the jersey here http://gryphonsbasketball.blogspot.com

Uncovered the latest trap in town "one thousand, two hundred and thirty-four", better known as "1234". Note: Can only be used when playing against opposition team consisting of players 35 years and above.

Still dot you still dot you, and I'm fine with you not dotting me back. My fault too late too bad bye bye bye bye bye X1234 i know.

Fine, fine, fine; and so I shall once again fulfil my side of the bargain, and write something here.

There hasn't been a day of school this week and when all you do is eat sleep eat sleep, you get fat, like me.

Today, 16th July, RI's Cdiv team emerged victorious over Cathigh for the first time in a long while. We beat them once in bdiv this year too, but this one was a whitewash, but somehow doesn't feel as great as our season-saving one a few months ago. Either way, we have not lost to an all-local CHS team in recent history, so that says a lot. Am very proud of the juniors, they played horribly based on their standards but still, we were all behind them and every basket they scored just felt good, really good. Raffles for the SZ title!

And then rg's cdiv once again miraculously came from a 10+ point deficit and won the game thanks to a banker by #11 with like 10 seconds left. Every time they have a season with this kinda game, they somehow go on and win the title. Think SZ final '07, the game against dunman in bdiv this year. I honestly wonder what the secret recipe is.

So watching them, I missed last year a lot. I realise these two years have been very different for me, on all fronts of life. Seeing the juniors emerge victorious again and again, it's the same feeling i got during sz last year. Even though the season didn't end as perfectly and as triumphantly as we would have wanted, for me it was very special. I learnt so much, felt guilty so much i'll never forget those days. But along the way i found something i never expected to find, and today watching them I missed everything. And it's not that i lose these things because I have other people mess things up for me, it's always because I do/say really stupid things, things that I only regret later on. But the learning process has been good, albeit painful.

As of now, Wednesday, 16th July 2008, 10.30pm, there is only one person in this entire galaxy I do not have the guts to talk to, approach, look at. Maybe in a year or two's time, I will live to regret this lack of courage, or maybe I will regret it dying/dead. Maybe, just maybe.
(terrible irony i know).

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

daniel youshallbelittlemissohmygosh and superman will fly; says:

Lucas Scott: "Hey Lindsey, one day you're gonna wake up in the morning and realise how much I love you, then you'll decide to come back to me. And till that moment, I'll be waiting for you, no matter how long you take."
